SoundCloud Partners with Brownies & Lemonade To Identify, Spotlight, and Amplify Emerging Electronic Artists

[July 10, 2023] Today, SoundCloud and Brownies & Lemonade unite for a first-ever partnership to spotlight emerging electronic artists.  Brownies & Lemonade, a leader in the EDM events space, will partner with SoundCloud to further its community discovery efforts and artist development initiatives while uniting audiences and supporting artistry together.

The partnership is inaugurated with the re-launch of Brownies & Lemonade’s Twitch live stream, Open Aux Arcade.  Premiering tomorrow, July 11th at 7pm PST, the weekly Tuesday live stream is an experiential show where submitted demos and new music receive live feedback from Brownie & Lemonade’s Creative Director, Chad Kenney, and musician, RamonPang.  SoundCloud will take the reins as a presenting partner, with exclusive submissions flowing directly from SoundCloud.  Check out Open Aux Arcade here.

SoundCloud is, and has always been, the place for emerging artists to develop and thrive,” says SoundCloud’s Global Head of Music, Emmy Lovell.  “That's why electronic dance music is so big on our platform. From exclusive remixes and sets to identifying new sounds coming out of the genre, EDM is a part of our DNA. I'm so thrilled to be taking our relationship with Brownies & Lemonade to the next level, and I look forward to seeing where our shared commitment to artist growth takes us

Additional tentpoles of the partnership include:

  • Artist Spotlight Series: SoundCloud and Brownies & Lemonade will join forces for an artist spotlight series, utilizing their social media platforms to celebrate and amplify emerging talents.
  • Editorial playlist consideration: Merging the sounds and voices that started on SoundCloud first, SoundCloud will aid in the curation of Brownies & Lemonade’s "Move Makers” playlist while Brownies & Lemonade will nominate artists for both quarterly and weekly playlists. These SoundCloud-specific playlists are tailored based on weekly relevance and promoted across SoundCloud channels.

Artists can also pitch their music directly through the Brownies & Lemonade Discord server in the #info channel here.

It’s such an immense honor to be featured by Brownies & Lemonade and SoundCloud, two collectives that have literally helped shape my career into what it is today.” says artist Moore Kismet. “I had always dreamed of playing a Brownies event someday when I was younger and using SoundCloud was literally how I got started in music. When I was first starting out, it allowed me the chance to really grow my sound and experiment however I was the most comfortable with… All the things that led me to where my sonic flow is now.

This is just the latest milestone in SoundCloud’s strategic effort to enhance its creator offerings. Since launching SoundCloud for Artists in 2022, SoundCloud has introduced a range of updates including the new Fans tool for artists, direct messages on mobile, a new Comments tool, a global licensing deal with Merlin, and additional Member Benefits partners.
